Canen Border Collies

Canen Quicksilva and Canen Bond

Lesley Garratt (nee Curnow) has two border collies - Canen Quicksilva and Canen Bond. Here's what Lesley has to say about them...

Canen Quicksilva

Canen Quicksilva (aka Silva) is a son of Trip. He is closely related to Karcach Oswald and Jitterbug Jeep (son of Ozzy).

Silva is a very powerful dog but his character as a family dog and as a working companion is second to none. He has developed a true passion for flyball, as displayed through his sheer stamina and focus on the task at hand.

Canen Bond

Here is Bond - oh boy does he live up to his name! Bold, handsome, very smart and already has a reputation amongst the ladies. We first saw him at nine weeks old, learning that his father was Russ, litter brother of Trip, the father of my other dog Quicksilva. We were so tempted to buy him then, but it was too close to Christmas financially to purchase a pup.

Luckily for us, due to a change of his owner's mind, he was due to be returned to Shirley's aged five months old. We heard about this, via friends on the 'Canen' grapevine, so we snapped him up at five months old and the rest is history!

Here is Bond as a working draft excluder for Lesley's conservatory - perhaps he is counting sheep jumping the door in his dreams!!

Here is Bond looking very much like his dad, Russ.
