Canen Border Collies

Canen Count

Canen Count (aka Basil) is owned by Liane Wharton. Here's what she has to say about him:

"Basil was born on 25 July 2006.  He is by Trip out of Rika."

"Basil is a super boy with a wonderful temperament.  He adores people and likes nothing more than to be the centre of attention, especially when we have visitors around.  He goes into his 'show off mode' – he will get all his toys out of the toy box, one by one and put them in your lap, in an attempt to impress you.  It works too!!"

"Another thing he does is talk on the phone. He has this lovely grunting, growling routine with a mouth full of squeaky toy, whenever I am on the phone. I can't hear myself speak, I should really stop him, but it is just so funny and uniquely Basil."

"He is devoted to me – a real mummy's boy. All he wants to do is please me at all times.  He loves to learn new things and is slowly building up a repertoire of tricks.  He found puppy school really easy and has passed his bronze, silver and gold good dog awards.  He loves flyball and regularly runs under 4.3 secs – he is very focused, nothing distracts him."

"Agility has been a bit more of a challenge for us both.  To start with he was very scared of the equipment, but we have taken things very slowly with no pressure, lots of rewards and his confidence has gradually built up.  He is a sensitive soul.  With the perseverance of a fantastic trainer who has been with us from the beginning, he is now ready for his first competition, which is in September."

"He has loads of drive whilst outside, but as soon as we get home he sleeps, all day if he can, usually with his legs in the air!!"

He likes to play row, row, row your boat with it, never sleeps on it, but prefers to drag it around.
