September 2011

Julie Adams won two firsts with Canen Cran Kit Up and a first and the championship steeplechase with Canen Storm.

Lesley Jones and her Canen Smartie have won another first.

Sue Windsor has been both surprised and delighted with Canen Geel at Dashin Dogs when he got two grade 5 second places in agility and jumping.

A new competitor at her first show, Pods, Mrs D Davies got a first in agility and third in jumping - didn't she do well with Canen Rosey!

August 2011

Kim Watt's Kizzie won open agility and Cerys won G6Ag at WBSDS, Oswestry and from there went on to Pembroke where between them they got five firsts and three seconds.

Canen Smartie had her first win at Welsh KC agility - this clever girl has also got her silver and gold GSDS.

Canen Rueben has also passed his GSDS silver and starts his flyball career soon.

Canen Avanti got several placings at DIN.

Canen I'm Certain Sure (aka Nico) won a handful of firsts and other placings and also went into G7.

Canen Storm continued his wonderful run of success at UKA agility and alongside labrador Madison qualified for the pairs final in December.

July 2011

Steve Read and Canen I'm Certain Sure (aka Nico) won the 3-5 Olympia qualifier - that, along with other wins, makes him grade 6 now. Not to be outdone, Emma Hellier's Canen Swift won at grade 6, but forgot to tell me which show. Canen Difor won 1st at Billinghurst. Lesley Jones and her Canen Smartie, at their first show, won 2nd in agility and 5th in jumping and last, but by no means least, Andrea Hasting's Canen Dirgel (aka Teegan) won 3rd in her first obedience competition. Well done all. I know there's more but if you don't tell me how can I know? News reported by Shirley Bell.

Well done to Veronica and Canen Kite for attaining Agility Gold this weekend! News reported by Shirley Bell.

Cane Bruv with handler/owner Nikki Ramsay got a 1st and 2nd at their latest show. Barbara Owen's Canen Quiz got her first trophy and I see from points tables in Agility Eye that Margaret Brain's Canen Fuddle Puddle and Canen Nowuk Infurri, Ian Smith's Canen Sophie's Touch of Magic and Alan Wildman's Canen Flame of the Future are getting placed. Canen Dixie (Jack of all Trades x Haze), owned by L Mackinon, has won two grade 3 classes in Scotland recently. Keep it up Dixie! News reported by Shirley Bell.

Michelle Elder's Canen Jaunty Red Dragon (Jack x Enfys) has been doing well I hear, mainly in jumping classes. News reported by Shirley Bell.

Canen Quick Finnish and partner My Kind of Cai have qualified for the Laser Pairs to be run at Dashin Dogs in August. News reported by Shirley Bell.

Canen Jigsaw won Grade 3 Agility at Spring at Shuttleworth in April. This was followed by a win out of Grade 4 at Hinckley a few weeks later. He is continuing to gain good places. News reported by Teresa McAteer.

Belle (aka Canen Amber Sundance by Jack out of Enfys) has obtained her Kennel Club Gold Warrant by obtaining total of 800 points in agility competitions. News reported by Pat Leggate.

May 2011

The summer season is starting well for the Canen clan:

Emma Hellier with Canen Swift (Trip x Bet) won at Kernow and is now grade 6.

Latest from Julie Adams who really is 'on a roll' with Canen Storm (Roy x Titch) - so far this year they have won 17 classes and been second 4 times. Julie hopes he will be in grade 7 this year. Her younster Canen Cran Kit Up (Wallace x Trog) has started his career with a good placing and Julie is expecting great things with him as he matures.

It's great to hear when a puppy starts training for a career in rescue work and how it is progressing. Nop (Vince x Trog) has passed his first examination which covers temperament, obedience and reliability in presence or sight of distractions, i.e. sheep!

Canen Phar to Go and Canen Bond have been promoted to the Livewire's top team and came home with 1st rosettes from their debut competition. Both did really well and were aided by nearly calm handlers Howard and Lesley!

The Canen Kids had a successful month in all dog sports.

In Agility Kim Watts' Canen Cerys and Kizzie continued their winning ways as did Canen Tsar, Canen Rio, Canen Summer Breeze, Canen I'm Certain Sure, brothers Canen Jigsaw and Canen Trio, and Sally Jones' Rulls Patience (who has Canen parents).

In Obedience several youngsters got their Bronze and Silver warrents, Canen CJ, Canen Whisper, and Canen Zappa, Canen Victor, and Canen Maisie being regularly placed.

And we musn't forget the Flyballers where Canen Robin at Bryning-aka Mackman qualified for his Pearl award. It's hard to name all the others that give their owners such fun, really going for SPEED, as they belong to teams all over GB and are too numerous to mention.

Tuesday 20 July - Newlands grade 6 agility win for Canen Cerys (Russ x Haze) took her into grade 7. Her owner, Kim Watts, hopes to do the same soon with her other bitch, Karcach Kiz, of the same breeding. Chadiga Groos with Canen Summer Breeze got 5th at the same show.

Other top place prize winners in July include Canen This Tigg, Canen Boosh and litter sister Canen Swift, Canen Cosmic Sindy, Canen Fern and sister Canen Flame of the Future, Canen Cody, Canen Tsar, Canen Meg Undercover, Canen Tarna, Canen Rio, Canen Fuddle Puddle, Canen Pip Me and Canen Jigsaw.

Adam Wildman qualified two dogs for the semi-finals in YKC Crufts, the dogs being Canen Rio and Canen Flame of the Future. Well done young man!

Saturday 26 June - Barbara Owen was pleased to get 4.2 hipscore with Canen Quizical.

Young Adam Wildman has qualified TWO dogs for semi-finals YKC at Crufts - Canen Flame of the Future, owned by his dad, and Bev Dale's Canen Rio.

Canen This Tigg got 1st and 2nd, handled by M. Cowling and Ulnos White Drift got 2nd and 7th at East of England on 20th June.

Canen Whisper, Canen Dirgel and Canen CJ have all got their bronze and silver for obedience and the first two are now hoping to go on to agility training, ready for next year!.

Saturday 5 June - Following Badger's win into grade 2 at his last show he has competed today in his first grade 2 classes at the JDA Open Agility Show at Littleport. He won the grade 2 jumping and the grade 2 agility winning him into grade 3 - what a little star! News reported by Teresa McAteer.

Saturday 5 June - Also at the JDA Open Agility Show at Littleport Tony Ryman with Canen Tsar got 3rd in grade 5 agility.

Moreover, M. Brain's Canen Fuddle Puddle was really on fire - winning a 1st, two 3rds, two 4ths, as well as a 5th, 7th and 8th.

And, A. Bullen'ss Canen Pip Me (a new face, I think) got a 2nd.

Monday 31 May - DOUBLE WIN FOR CANEN'S !!

The KC flyball team 'Warrington Wizzards' qualified for Crufts 2011 on the 29th May at the Hatchford DTC qualifier. The team includes Canen's Quicksilva, Tinca, Grace and Indie (sired by Canen Russ) together with fellow team mates Neo and Willow - not only did they qualify but they also achieved 'first place'.

Our YKC flyball team entered for the first time ever, the 'Warrington Whizz-kids' with Canen Red Mischief (aka Megan), Duke, Sammy, Belle, Patch and Ruby. They qualified and achieved 'first place' in the junior sector.

Sunday 30 May - Just heard from Sarah Crouch that her Canen Cosmic Sindy (aka Chase), a Baz x Spice daughter, won Grade 5 Agility at Tunbridge Wells. News reported by Shirley Bell.

Tuesday 18 May - This month's agility results so far:

Emma Hellier's Canen Swift won two classes at Carn Brae, joining her sister, Sam Rooney's Canen Boosh, who won earlier in the month into grade 4. They are Trip x Bet offspring.

Tony Ryman's Canen Tsar got a 3rd and 4th in grade 5 at Godmanchester. He is Russ x Spangle son.

At Worcester, Julie Adams and Canen Storm got 3rd in a really exciting competition where only half a second seperated the first three placings. He is a Roy x Titch son.

Canen Jigsaw, owned by Teresa McAteer, won two 1sts, she didn't say which show.

Alan Wildman and Canen Flame of the Future also won a grade 4 recently.

Veronica Wilson and Canen Kite got two 4ths in grade 5 (in Worcester I think, but she didn't say which show). Kite is by Sadghyl Pip x Sian. V has set her sights on making it to grade 6 asap. Go for it Girls!

I know there are others but unless you tell me I can't mention your achievement.

Saturday 27 February - Canen Jigsaw (aka Badger) ran in the Grade 1-2 final at the Barking Mad Winter Series today and won the final. I am so incredibly proud of him and it was a fantastic run. News reported by Teresa McAteer.

Saturday 6 February - At Waldridge Fell agility Grade 3 Agility was won by Alan Wildman's Canen Flame of the Future with Bev Dale's Canen Rio coming second. Well done to them both.
